Chris Chapman

Chris Chapman Managing Director

I joined Aspen in October 2006 having previously had a career in various industries including over ten years with a major oil company and over twelve years as Financial Controller of a major subsidiary of Thames Water. I am a qualified certified accountant (FCCA) and had no previous experience of estate agency. I was approached by the owners of Aspen Residential to join the Company with a view to placing a different aspect on how to manage an estate agency and ultimately to take over Aspen when the then owners retired. My wife Jackie and I took ownership of Aspen Estate Agents on the 1st October 2009 and since then we have invested in turning what was once considered an old fashioned yet reliable business into a more professional, innovative and modern Company. Our view was not to be your typical estate agency; we do not adopt aggressive tactics to try and win business and it is not our way to go door knocking (touting) either. We have therefore seen the company go from strength to strength because of our different approach. We have managed to put together a highly experienced team of people who are reliable committed and who strive to give the best service possible for all our clients, landlords and tenants, and I have taken this opportunity to ask each of our full time personnel to provide a brief personal note about themselves.

Paul Garrod

Paul Garrod Sales Director

Started his career in 1983 for a large corporate company in Sunbury-on-Thames and Staines and having learned his trade and progressed well he was approached in 1985 by Gale & Power, a long established professional company, to join their team in Staines, eventually heading it up in 1988. In 1993 Paul was asked to manage and turn around the Egham office, soon taking it to the highest performing branch in the company. However in 1988 Paul was 'head-hunted' by Aspen and was pleased to join, having seen Gale & Power gobbled up by another 'corporate' and losing its identity. Paul has managed Aspen in Englefield Green for over twelve years and with his established team has overseen the business grow threefold. Paul loves the community feel and spirit of Englefield Green and says "I have always taken huge pride in providing a truthful, friendly and competent service, always willing to go that little bit extra and I have seen this rewarded with trust and belief from my clients, with many recommendations and 'repeat' business from them, with most becoming more like friends. I am also lucky to have a managing director who also believes in doing things the right way, valuing his staff and their input and is happy to contribute and re-invest in the community, with the sponsoring of many schools and village activities; a real benefit of a truly independent estate agent". Outside of work Paul loves the occasional holiday with his wife and friends (now the children are too old to want to go with him) and when time permits play a round of golf, go to the gym and is a convert and an enthusiast of the 'Kindle'.

Gavin Streeter

Gavin Streeter Senior Sales and Lettings Consultant

I happily joined Aspen Estates Agents in 2007 just after getting married; I like to think of myself as being a hard worker, a very friendly and motivated person that has high expectations of what I can achieve. Whilst being with Aspen I have gained many skills and have expanded my knowledge in Estate Agency. I really enjoy working for Aspen and enjoy the buzz of working for the Number 1 agent in Englefield Green! After a career as Conference and Events Manager where I gained excellent customer care skills, I decided to make the move to the property market as it was something that always interested me. I worked for a large corporate Estate Agent for 2 years before moving to Aspen in 2007. I have lived locally all my life and am a member of Penton Hook Yacht club where I have an active role fundraising and organising club events; I enjoy boating and the odd alcoholic beverage.

Danielle Purdy

Danielle Purdy Sales and Lettings Consultant

I am the latest addition to Aspen Estate Agents and I look forward to being part of a dynamic and well driven team. I began my career in Estate Agency when I was just 17 years old working as a sales negotiator for a very large successful Estate Agency in Surrey. I remained there for 4 years. I have since worked in various corporate companies in the Surrey area in both Sales and Lettings departments. I am now very much enjoying being part of an independent company and feel I am much better suited to the personal service that Aspen provide. I have always loved my job. I’m a people person and thrive in sales environments. In my spare time I like to horse ride, read and of course, socialise.

Kelly-Marie Moss

Kelly-Marie Moss Lettings Administration Manager

I joined Aspen Estate Agents as a Lettings Administrator in 2007 and then progressed to a Lettings Administration Manager in 2009. After working for a larger company I soon realised the importance of working for a smaller business and learnt how to offer a personal service very quickly. I enjoy coming into work knowing that every day brings a different challenge as the job varies so much from calling our contractors out to putting up furniture. I’m based in the office but go out to each managed property every three months for the routine visits and I must admit it’s nice to get out of the office now and then. Managing properties has a lot of responsibility and I take great pride and care in my work. The simplest problems that can occur are for example: tenants call the Management Department... washing machine is not working. We eventually discover the washing machine hadn't been turned on! In situations like this I have taken the appropriate action so that our clients do not suffer high costs. Just to let you know that your property will be in safe hands wherever you are in the world. Englefield Green is a friendly village. When I'm out and about in the area I often bump into clients to say hi. In my spare time I enjoy gardening and socialising with friends and family.

Jackie Chapman

Jackie Chapman Company secretary

I joined Aspen when I returned to work after the youngest of our two daughters started school ten years ago. I had previously worked for two international companies as an accountant. My husband Chris joined me at Aspen and we took over the company in October 2009. Although we are not estate agents as such, we use our background and training to ensure that we comply with the current legislation for estate agents and that we do things properly. We are members of the NAEA and ARLA and as such we follow their strict rules. We are audited regularly to comply with the control and safeguarding of client deposits. We have a great team in our staff who all support and help us to run an efficient and successful business. My ever demanding role within the company covers all financial and company secretarial matters.
