I joined Aspen in October 2006 having previously had a career in various industries including a major oil company and a Financial Controller of a major subsidiary of Thames Water. I am a qualified certified accountant (FCCA) and had no previous experience of estate agency. I was approached by the owners of Aspen to join the Company with a view to placing a different aspect on how to manage an estate agency and ultimately to take over Aspen when the then owners retired. My wife Jackie and I took ownership of Aspen Estate Agents on the 1st October 2009 and since then we have invested in turning what was once considered an old fashioned yet reliable business into a more professional, innovative and modern Company. Our view was not to be your typical estate agency; we do not adopt aggressive tactics to try and win business and it is not our way to go door knocking (touting) either. We have put together a highly experienced team of people who are reliable committed and who strive to give the best service possible for all our clients.

I started my career in 1983 for a large corporate company in Sunbury-on-Thames, Staines and Egham. However in 1988 I was 'head-hunted' by Aspen and was pleased to join. I love the community feel and spirit of Englefield Green and always taken huge pride in providing a truthful, friendly and competent service. I am always willing to go that little bit extra and I have seen this rewarded with trust and belief from my clients, with many recommendations and 'repeat' business from them, with most becoming more like friends. I am also lucky to have a managing director who also believes in doing things the right way, valuing his staff and their input and is happy to contribute and re-invest in the community, with the sponsoring of many schools and village activities; a real benefit of a truly independent estate agent.

I joined Aspen Estates Agents in 2007 just after getting married; I am a hard worker, very friendly and a motivated person that has high expectations of what I can achieve. Whilst being with Aspen I have gained many skills and have expanded my knowledge in Estate Agency. I really enjoy working for Aspen and enjoy the buzz of working for the Number 1 agent in the area! After a career as a Conference and Events Manager where I gained excellent customer care and organisation skills, I decided to make the move to the property market as it was something that always interested me. I worked for a large corporate Estate Agent for many years before moving to Aspen . I take a key role in the marketing of the business and I am always looking a new ways to move the company forward.

I started my career in Human Resources gaining the CIPD qualification which has proved very useful in my current position at Aspen. I came to Aspen eight years ago working Saturdays after starting a family and taking a career break. As the business prospers I have been able to increase my hours which has enabled me to gain a wealth of experience in most aspects of estate agency. I thoroughly enjoy being part of the Aspen team and my role, which is very varied, includes sales, lettings, administration, viewings and liaising with clients, landlords and the general public. I am very customer focused and gain great satisfaction from achieving positive results.

Previously I was working in the financial industry. The friendly approach Aspen takes with regards to their day-to-day running of the business suits me perfect. I feel privileged to work with such a professional team who have a passion for serving their customers to the highest of standards. I am a friendly person and take pride in completing any tasks that I am set. I enjoy the challenge of every day being different and taking on more responsibility. I very quickly learnt that our landlords, tenants and contractors are the most important part of our business and I must communicate with them in an efficient way and make sure that all queries, however big or small, are dealt with. I am currently studying for my ARLA qualification which I am enjoying doing.

I joined Aspen when I returned to work after the youngest of our two daughters started school ten years ago. I had previously worked for two international companies as an accountant. My husband Chris joined me at Aspen and we took over the company in October 2009. Although we are not estate agents as such, we use our background and training to ensure that we comply with the current legislation for estate agents and that we do things properly. We are members of the NAEA and ARLA and as such we follow their strict rules. We are audited regularly to comply with the control and safeguarding of client deposits. We have a great team in our staff who all support and help us to run an efficient and successful business. My ever demanding role within the company covers all financial and company secretarial matters.

Sharon Sturt

On a daily basis my day consists of managing student and residential properties in the local area. I have a wide range of responsibilities, including dealing with legal aspects such as Tenancy Agreements and Security Deposits, down to arranging contractors to attend properties to fix and maintain them to a good level. My role does not mean I only sit at my desk all day as I conduct 3 monthly routine visits at all our managed properties. This gives me the perfect insight and background knowledge to help with any queries as they arise. I am good at resolving issues quickly and that I have developed a positive rapport with tenants and landlords alike. I have a great eye for detail and will ensure that properties are maintained to a respectable order during tenancies. As I enjoy my work, I hope that this shines through.
